Project Description
Solace is a personal portrait series centered around intimacy, simplicity, and honest human expression. The project began with a simple idea: portraits don't always need to be dramatic to be meaningful.
I wanted each image to feel natural and unforced, allowing personality to come through without relying on heavy styling or complicated sets. The photographs were created using soft natural light, quiet environments, and minimal direction.
The result is a collection of portraits that feels personal and understated, capturing small expressions, gestures, and moments of stillness that reveal something about each person.

The Challenge
The challenge was to create portraits that felt genuine rather than overly posed. Each subject needed enough direction to feel comfortable while still leaving room for spontaneous expressions and natural interactions.
The series also needed a consistent visual language across different people and locations, creating a collection that felt connected while allowing each portrait to retain its own personality.
